Ooops, that should read, “I wanna get leied”, as I’m currently on Oahu, in Hawaii, and will be going to a luau on Thursday. Tomorrow, I’m even getting to watch a local live TV show being filmed, so that’s pretty cool. I’ll probably have some drinks, too, so it should be plenty of fun. The luau is going to be on Thursday, and I’ll be going with Angelina and Steve. If they’re driving, then I’m pretty sure that I’ll have a drink or two. Nice.
Today I was given another mini-tour and was able to see the “Mighty Mo”, that’s the USS Missouri, to those not really ‘in the know’. It was there that the Japanese surrendered to the US at the closing of World War II. It’s quite an impressive sight, and it would have been better if I could have actually gone onto the ship and had a tour, but I don’t have time for that. Oh well, perhaps I’ll get to come back some day and have a look at it. I also saw the USS Arizona Memorial, but, like the Mighty Mo, I don’t have time to get out there and visit it properly. This will also go on my list of “To Do’s”. I was able, however, to see the site of the wreckage of the USS Utah, another ship that was sunk in Pearl Harbor. I didn’t get to take any pics, as I forgot that damn camera, but my travel companion, Ciro, brought his along and I’m hoping to get a copy of those pics when we meet back up in Germany.
Aside from that, all I’m doing these days is worrying that I won’t be able to make my flight from LAX to Spokane in time on Saturday morning. The timing is close, I basically will have about 45 minutes to get from my gate to the next gate and also get the luggage checked-in. I don’t know if that’s going to work, but that’s all I have to go on right now. El Suck-O! Wish me luck!!!
